About the Artist:

Jenna is a stay-at-home mom to one amazingly sassy little girl, 2 cockatiels, a small herd of dogs and 3 zombie lawn gnomes. She is a coffee drinking, book reading, Sherlocked Whovian who loves late-night scary movies, online retail therapy, the BBC, and teaching her birds to whistle things like The Imperial Death March.

Jenna has been making various bath and body products for herself and family since 2006. In 2011, she was gifted some handmade soap for Christmas and the soap making obsession started. After several months of researching all the different soap making methods, reading about and watching various soap makers in action, and studying the necessary safety procedures, she made her first batch of soap. It…wasn’t the best. But she tried again, and again, and again until she was happy with the outcome. Then friends and family started asking about buying her soap. After making favors for a friend’s wedding, another friend’s baby shower and having a company in Salt Lake City approach her about selling her soaps in their store, she decided it was about time to start taking the necessary steps to become an official business. So for the past year and a half, that is exactly what she has done. And now here we are – Voodoo Doll Soapworks!

Contrary to what a lot of people think, Voodoo Doll Soapworks did not get its name because the owner is a Voodoo Priestess. She’s not. But she does get a kick out of it whenever anyone asks. The short version of the story is that the name came from a long-running inside joke between Jenna and her best friends.

"When all else fails, try Voodoo."
